About Jayne

Raised by sci-fi fanatical, movie geeks, I grew up watching Star Trek, Star Wars and Stargate, anything with star in the name was usually on the VCR. I grew up making my Barbie dolls Jedi robes from brown paper envelopes and playing X-Men with my sister and cousin. Yes, I grew up a geek and I am proud of it.

Whereas some go through phases of musical tastes, my phases were dictated by my favourite films. The Princess Bride made me want to learn to fence, The Lord of the Rings made me want to learn archery, The Crow made me want to wear all black clothing, Interview with the Vampire started a whole new level of gothness and Amelie introduced me back to the light and a new love of quirkiness and colour. I still love all of those films.

I studied Art, English and Media Studies at A Levels and not really knowing what career route to take, I went on to study Cinema, Photography and Television at University of Leeds, which developed my knowledge of film theory and history.

I now work as a freelance digital marketing consultant, specialising in blogging and social media. I'm a award nominated Twitter obsessive and still love vampire movies (except for Twilight) and anything made my Wes Anderson.
